Replacing front passenger airbag
On some Audi A6 and A7 vehicles manufactured within a specific period the front passenger airbag installed may show signs of damage in transit. As a result in the event of an accident in which the front passenger airbag is triggered its restraining effect will be hindered.
The front passenger airbag unit must be replaced on the affected vehicles.
Software update for brake electronics control unit
The central gear indicator can appear to display that Park is engaged when the parking brake is not set. Please check that the red parking brake warning lamp is displayed for multiple seconds before leaving the vehicle.
A new software version for the ABS control unit is required for safety reasons.
Servicing high-voltage battery
On affected vehicles battery modules may become defective over the course of the vehicle’s service life. This may result in a fire hazard when charging the high-voltage battery with the associated risk of severe or fatal injuries to people inside and/or outside the vehicle as well as significant material damage. To minimise this risk do not charge the high-voltage battery using an external charging source. In addition do not use the e-tron modes “Battery charge” and “Battery hold” (refer to Owner’s Manual) until further notice.
Replace the defective modules. Further software fix being developed to improve monitoring.

Check high-voltage battery
Some individual modules of the high-voltage battery may display technical irregularities. It cannot be ruled out that the battery may overheat under certain circumstances. For safety reasons affected cell modules must be replaced during a workshop visit. Vehicles affected by this should also not be charged above 80% until further notice.
The high-voltage battery must be checked on the affected vehicles and if necessary one or more modules must be replaced.

Vehicles affected by this should also not be charged above 80% until further notice. Affected cell modules must be replaced during a workshop visit. The corresponding battery module must be replaced on the vehicles affected.
Replacing brake hoses
On affected vehicles cracks may occur on the brake hoses on the front axle over time resulting in brake fluid escaping.
Replace the front axle brake hoses.
Replacing brake servo
On certain Audi e-tron vehicles the bolted connection between the brake pedal and brake servo might not be properly secured. If it loosens the mechanical link between the foot brake and brake servo could fail. In such cases braking would only be possible using the controlled emergency braking function by holding the parking brake button on the centre console (see Owner’s Manual).
For safety reasons the brake servo must be replaced on the affected vehicles.
Replacing TAKATA driver airbag
On imported Audi vehicles previously used in a warm climate zone and fitted with TAKATA driver airbag manufactured within a specific period it is possible that the gas generator housing may cause small metal parts to become dislodged from the housing and potentially injure the driver or a passenger.
As a precautionary safety measure it is necessary to replace the gas generator in the airbag unit on the driver side of the vehicle.

Replacing front suspension link
A suspension link on the front axle that has invisible cracks may have been fitted to your vehicle. This possible damage means the service life of the suspension link can no longer be guaranteed and the component may fail. A failure particularly at higher speeds may result in vehicle behaviour that is difficult to control.
For safety reasons it is necessary to replace the front upper left suspension link
Checking brake lines
On affected vehicles the bolts for the brake pressure lines may have been tightened too far. In such cases the bolted connection may fail resulting in brake fluid escaping.
Check the bolted connection and replace the brake pressure lines if required.
Checking hydraulic unit
On affected vehicles the Electronic Stabilisation Control (ESC) unit may fail resulting in the loss of braking effort it may also affect the operation of the ESC and Anti Lock Braking System (ABS). If Red brake fault warning is displayed safely stop the vehicle immediately the Electronic Parking brake (EPB) can always be used to stop the vehicle if required and do not use vehicle until obtained further advice from the manufacturer.
On affected vehicles the Electronic Stabilisation Control (ESC) unit will be checked and replaced if necessary.
Checking high-voltage battery
Deviations to various important parameters were discovered on the affected battery modules. These may result in the affected battery modules becoming defective over the course of the vehicle’s service life. In turn this represents a fire hazard with the associated risk of severe or fatal injuries to people inside and/or outside the vehicle as well as significant material damage.
Check and if necessary replace individual modules of the high-voltage battery. To minimise this risk the manufacturer advises that you limit the charging target to 80 percent capacity until the inspection has been carried out. This significantly reduces the load on the battery during charging. You can adjust this setting in the Charging target menu in the MMI or in the ’myAudi’ app. As this setting may change during vehicle use the current value must always be checked prior to charging the vehicle and set to a maximum of 80 percent if necessary. Additionally until the inspection has been completed the manufacturer advises not to charge the vehicle under cover and or to ensure the vehicle is not parked adjacent to or under buildings.

Replacing Takata passenger airbag
On affected vehicles the passenger airbag may in extremely rare cases be overloaded and even burst when the passenger airbag is triggered. If this were to happen small metal parts could become dislodged from the housing and potentially cause life-threatening injury to a vehicle occupant.
For safety reasons it is necessary to check the passenger airbag and if required to replace the airbag module.

Checking high-voltage battery
Certain vehicles with a specific type of high-voltage battery may have cell modules with technical irregularities regarding their charging and discharging characteristics. This may lead to the high-voltage battery overheating potentially creating a risk of fire.
To minimise this risk temporarily do not charge the high-voltage battery above 80 percent capacity. The vehicle will be inspected and where necessary the individual cells within the high voltage battery will be replaced.
