DVLA recall archive
The archive holds 15,570 DVLA vehicle safety recalls dating back to 1992. Filter by manufacturer, year, or keyword. To check whether a specific vehicle is affected by an outstanding recall, run a live VRM recall check for £1.99.

TAILGATE MAY CLOSE WITHOUT WARNING
It has been identified that the power operated tailgate may close abruptly and unexpectedly following opening using the power function.
Recalled vehicle will have the tailgate motors replaced.
AIR BAG MAY NOT DEPLOY IN AN IMPACT
It may be possible that the driver's airbag may not inflate in an optimum manner during a collision.
Recalled vehicles will have the driver's airbag replaced.
CURTAIN AIRBAG MAY NOT INFLATE IN A COLLISION
The gas required to inflate the curtain airbag can escape gradually through a defective welded seam on the gas generator. In this instance the curtain airbag would fail to inflate in a collision.
Recalled vehicles will have the curtain airbag replaced.
FLYWHEEL MAY FAIL FIRE MAY RESULT
The two mass flywheel can become damaged because of a non-optimally designed through-flow restrictor in the clutch pressure pipe. This can lead to a total failure of the flywheel and under unfavourable circumstances to a vehicle fire.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and establish the manufacturer of the two mass flywheel. Where necessary replace the flywheel and the breather of the clutch pressure pipe.
AIR BAGS MAY DEPLOY TOO LATE
In the event of an accident in which deployment of the front airbags is required it is possible that the airbags can trigger too late.
Recalled vehicles will have the airbag and ECU software updated.
POSSIBILITY THAT HEADLIGHT BRIGHTNESS MAY SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCE.
It is possible that the brightness of the headlights may reduce significantly over time due to the degradation of the headlight coating
Affected vehicles will be recalled at which time the reflectors of both headlights will be changed.
BOLTS OF THE TANDEM FUEL PUMP COVER MAY BREAK
It is advised that on some vehicles fitted with a 3 and 4 cylinder pump injector engine the bolts of the tandem fuel pump cover may break due to a bolt production fault. As a result the pump housing will not be tight and a diesel fuel leak may occur.
Recalled vehicles will have the pump checked for being of a certain manufacture. If found to be within the affected range the pump housing cover bolts will be replaced.

REAR LEFT BRAKE PIPE MAY BECOME DAMAGED.
There is a possibility that the rear left brake pipe may become damaged by contact with the rear suspension coupling rod.
Recall affected vehicles inspect brake pipe for damage to protective coating and replace and/or reposition if necessary.
REPLACE DRIVERS AIRBAG
On vehicles in the affected range there is a possibility that the cover of the driver's airbag can come into contact with the driver if the airbag is triggered.
Recall affected vehicles to replace the driver's airbag
SHATTER CRACKS MAY OCCUR ON A VACUUM PIPE TO BRAKE SERVO
Shatter cracks may occur on the vacuum pipe to the brake servo near the connections. If a vacuum pipe leaks a lot more force will be necessary to operate the brake pedal.
The fitted vacuum pipes will be checked and replaced if necessary.
POSSIBLE FITMENT OF INCORRECT BRAKE DISC
Size 288mm x 15mm solid front brake discs may have been fitted instead of 288mm x 25mm ventilated discs. Because of the extra clearance required for the ventilated diisc a brake pad could fall out of the caliper as the pads wear down.
Examine the front brake discs on all potentially affected vehicles and rectify where found necessary.
AIRBAG MAY NOT DEPLOY
On 79 vehicles within the VIN ranges affected (with 3-spoke sports steering wheel) it is possible that in the event of a collision impact above the triggering threshold of the airbags the driver's airbag may not be deployed.
The drivers airbag unit will be replaced on all affected vehicles with 3-spoke sports steering wheel.

BRAKE PEDAL BRACKET MAY CRACK
Brake pedal brackets having a casting fault may have been installed. The bracket may crack and in the worst case seriously impair the brake performance.
Fit quality assured replacement brake pedal brackets.
ANTI LOCK BRAKE CONTROL UNIT CONCERN
There is a risk that an electrical fault in the anti lock brake control unit (ABS) can cause overheating of related electrical components. This may lead to fire damage and cause the service brake to revert to a non-anti lock mode of operation.
Recall affected vehicles to check the part number and supplier code of the ABS control unit. Renew the ABS control unit where found necessary.
WINDSCREEN WIPER ACTION MAY BE AFFECTED
At high speeds there is a risk that the wiper on the drivers side may become entangled with the wiper on the passenger's side which will lock wiper motion.
Recall affected vehicles and replace driver's side windscreen wiper arm and blade with modified type.
INSTABILITY AND LOSS OF DIRECTIONAL CONTROL COULD OCCUR
The TT proves to have a relatively narrow handling limit zone if extreme manoeuvres are undertaken at high speed which could lead in the worst case to a precise steering response to retain directional control. Instability and loss of directional control could occur. These characteristics have led to some customers objecting to the cars road behaviour. In an attempt to improve customer satisfaction the cars physical reactions are to be modified so the vehicles behaviour becomes more predictable at the handling limits.
Likely to be affected vehicles will be recalled for modifications to the suspension settings and the addition of a rear spoiler.
POTENTIAL PREMATURE WEAR OF STEERING BALL JOINTS
Faulty seals could lead to premature wear of the track rod bearings (ends) and if the warning noises are ignored it is possible that the track rod bearing pin could work loose and affect steering control.
Recall vehicles in order to replace the track rod ends with ones fitted with an improved seal.
