DVLA recall archive
The archive holds 15,570 DVLA vehicle safety recalls dating back to 1992. Filter by manufacturer, year, or keyword. To check whether a specific vehicle is affected by an outstanding recall, run a live VRM recall check for £1.99.
Showing 51–75 of 83 recalls.
POSSIBILITY OF FIRE
There is a possibility that the fuel hose from the diesel filter to the high pressure pump may chafe on the fuel filter housing. In time this could result in a fuel leak and the possibility of an engine compartment fire.
Recalled vehicles will have the routing of the hose checked at which time if the hose is not damaged a new bracket will be fitted to prevent chafing. If the hose is damaged it will be replaced in addition a new bracket will be fitted.
POSSIBLE LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL
Oil may leak from the Power Take Off Unit which may cause the unit to seize and possible loss of vehicle control.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to apply sealant to the core plug and to fit a retaining clip.

Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to apply sealant to the core plug and to fit a retaining clip.
BRAKING EFFICIENCY WILL BE REDUCED
A reflective heat shield may be incorrectly fitted or missing. This could lead to the servo pipe being damaged and the loss of brake servo assistance.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to ensure correct fitment of the reflective sheath.
ROOF BARS MAY FAIL
It has been identified that certain after market roof cross rails (not supplied by Alfa Romeo) could set up resonance frequencies within the rail that could in time lead to breakage of the longitudinal roof rails.
Recalled vehicles will be fitted with a new set of longitudinal roof rails.
POSSIBILITY OF ENGINE BAY FIRE
It has been identified that on a small number of vehicles the possibility exists there may be a short circuit situation within the engine additional heater system during the warm up period which could lead to a fire within the engine compartment.
Recalled vehicles will have the electrical supply to the additional heater modified; in order to avoid the possibility of the short circuit occurring.
CLUTCH MAY FAIL
On a number of RHD ALfa Romeo 147 and GT models there is a possibility that the clip which secures the connecting pin between the clutch cylinder and the clutch pedal may become detached resulting in loss of clutch operation.
Recalled vehicles will be fitted with a redesigned retaining clip.

Recalled vehicles will be fitted with a redesigned retaining clip.
BRAKING EFFICIENCY MAY REDUCE
The Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system does not operate properly when the space saver spare wheel is fitted. This could lead to the VDC warning lamp operating and may lead to reduced braking efficiency if the brakes are vigorously applied.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to fit a new VDC electronic control unit that has upgraded software installed.

POSSIBLE FUEL LEAK
A fuel leak may result due to cracking of the recirculation pipe flange on the fuel tank when the tank is filled to the maximum.
Recalled vehicles will have the fuel tank inspected for cracks and replaced if necessary.

POSSIBLE RISK OF FIRE AND LOSS OF POWER ASSISTED STEERING
There is a possibility that the high pressure power steering pipe may contact the exhaust downpipe which may result in a risk of fire and loss of power steering assistance.
Recall affected vehicles check pipe for contact with exhaust and fit extra retaining bracket to power assisted steering pipe.

Recall affected vehicles check pipe for contact with exhaust and fit extra retaining bracket to power assisted steering pipe.
BRAKE PIPE MAY CHAFE ON PAS PIPE MOUNTING BRACKET
The fitting of an incorrect connector between the brake pipe and the master cylinder may cause the brake pipe to chafe on a power steering pipe support bracket. In the worst case this could result in a fluid leak and a reduction in braking efficiency.
Replace the connector brake pipe and seals.
POSSIBLE FIRE RISK
Possible short circuit and fire risk in engine coolant booster heater wiring circuit during engine warm up period.
Modify the electrical wiring fit a re-rated protective fuse and install modified mounting bushes.
LOOSENING OF FRONT SUSPENSION
Gradual loosening of the front suspension may result in noise and deterioration of the suspension and handling characteristics.
Replace the original equipment front suspension reinforcing plates and fasteners with modified components.
BRAKE PIPE MAY CHAFE ON CABLE BRACKET
The metal brake pipe between the master cylinder and the ABS unit may chafe on a cable bracket. A seriously damaged brake pipe will reduce the braking efficiency.
Check brake pipe condition and clearances. Renew any damaged pipes.
POTENTIAL FUEL LEAK
The fuel delivery pipe from the pump may due to engine movement become strained at its connection to the injector rail. This could result in a fuel leak.
Fit two additional support clips to the fuel delivery pipe.
POWER ASSISTED STEERING CONCERN
Possible failure of low pressure power steering pipe connection with leakage of fluid and loss of power assistance.
Recall affected vehicles replace all high and low pressure oil supply and return pipes. Replace oil cooler and refill system with upgraded specification PAS oil.
ELECTRICAL WIRING MAY OVERHEAT
There is a risk that under severe operating conditions the engine radiator fan supply cables could overheat with a possible short circuit and fire.
Recall affected vehicles and check and modify the cables.
BRAKE PIPE CONNECTOR MAY CRACK AND LEAK
On some right hand drive 156 vehicles the brake master cylinder supply pipe connectors could develop cracks and leak hydraulic fluid with a possible reduction in braking efficiency of one of the two circuits.
Recall potentially affected vehicles and replace suspect connectors and two rubber flexible pipes on the brake master cylinder with new upgraded ones.
UNSCHEDULED DEPLOYMENT OF AIR BAG
It is possible that a heavy impact on the underside of the vehicle could cause unscheduled activation of the airbag.
On affected vehicles the air bag control unit will be replaced with a modified component.
