DVLA recall archive
The archive holds 15,570 DVLA vehicle safety recalls dating back to 1992. Filter by manufacturer, year, or keyword. To check whether a specific vehicle is affected by an outstanding recall, run a live VRM recall check for £1.99.
Showing 26–50 of 83 recalls.
THE SEATS MAY NOT LOCK IN THE CORRECT POSITION
The seats may not lock in the correct position.
Check and replace the seat frame if necessary
FUEL LEAKAGE MAY OCCUR
Fuel leakages may occur and fumes may form inside the passenger compartment
Fit a new plug and seal to the fuel fitter assembly
THE INTERCOOLER SLEEVE MAY DETACH
The intercooler sleeve may detach.
The retaining metal band must be replaced with a new component

UNDESIRED ACCELERATION OF THE VEHICLE MAY OCCUR WHILST ACTIVE CRUISE CONTROL IS OPERATIONAL
Undesired acceleration of the vehicle may occur whilst active cruise control is operational.
Update the software in the brake system module.

SOME ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS MAY MALFUNCTION DUE TO WATER INFILTRATION
On some Alfa Romeo Stelvio vehicles due to a potential nonconformity some electric-electronic components may malfunction as a result of water infiltrations and their performance may be compromised. The vehicle may not function as the driver expects it to during use including unintended activation and opening of the rear liftgate door at vehicle speeds up to 3.1 MPH. An unintended activation and opening of the rear liftgate door may result in a loss of unrestrained cargo. Lost cargo may create a road hazard and could cause a following vehicle to crash without prior warning.
Sealing and/or application of sealants in specific places will ensure full parts conformity is restored.
BRAKE AND/OR CLUTCH SYSTEM COMPONENTS MAY BECOME DAMAGED BY MINERAL OIL
The brake/clutch system components may be damaged and system performance may decay as a result of the potential presence of mineral oil in the brake-clutch fluid because the components are not compatible with mineral oil. As a result brake/clutch system performance may deteriorate.
Replace the components in the brake-clutch system.

FRONT SEAT BELT PRETENSIONER COULD MALFUNCTION DURING DEPLOYMENT
Due to a potential non-conformity in the supplier's production process the front seat belt pretensioner could malfunction and the front seat belt pretensioner may not function as intended in the event of a deployment. The locking mechanism operates independently from the pretensioner therefore locking mechanism functionality is still guaranteed.
Fit new seat belt assembly to either the driver or passenger front seat or both. The seat belt assembly to be replaced will be determined on the vehicle VIN/ chassis number which will be checked against a list to ensure the correct operation carried out.
GEARBOX MAY NOT FUNCTION AS INTENDED
The wiring loom connected to the transmission oil pump may chafe against a support bracket and damage the wiring.. Damaged wiring may cause loss of drive or adversely affect gear changes.
Check the wiring for any damage and repair as required. If the wiring is not damaged reposition the wiring.
POTENTIAL FOR LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL
The tie rod for toe in adjustment could fail at the threads and cause loss of vehicle control. This is due to a nonconformity in production.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to replace both rear tie bars.
BRAKING EFFICIENCY MAY BE REDUCED
A connector on the brake servo pipe may fail and cause a loss of vacuum assistance necessitating the driver to include additional effort when braking.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to fit a new brake servo pipe.
REAR WHEELS MAY LOCK UP
The gearbox assembly may fail due to an internal breakage inside the gearbox. This may cause the rear wheels to lock up.
Replace gearbox
TYRE SIDEWALL MAY CRACK
It has been identified that Pirelli tyre type 215/40 ZR18 89W PZERO NERO annotated MO and F223 may suffer cracking of the sidewall. This can lead to loss of inflation pressure and under certain conditions can have an adverse effect on the safe handling of the vehicle.
Recalled vehicles will have the subject tyres replaced.
REDUCTION OF BRAKING ASSISTANCE MAY OCCUR
Brake pedal could be stiff to depress requiring more input from the driver to stop as a result of insufficient brake assistance caused by low vacuum at low engine speed while at high altitude immediately after starting.
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to fit an electric vacuum pump to supplement the engine vacuum system.

LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL
It has been identified that the front suspension arm ball joint retaining nuts may not have been tightened to the correct torque. This may result in a metallic noise a vibration through the steering wheel and ultimately a loss of steering control.
Recalled vehicles will have the ball joint nuts checked for tightness to the correct torque and replaced if the former is not the case.
BRAKES MAY FAIL
Due to the possibility of a fault in the production process the flexible rubber brake hoses may not have been correctly vulcanised. As a consequence may partially or totally restrict the internal flow of the brake hydraulic fluid. Should this happen a reduction in efficiency during braking would occur.
Recalled vehicles will have the hoses checked to identify if they are within the affected batch. If this is the case they will be replaced with quality assured items.

POSSIBILITY OF FIRE
There is a possibility that the fuel hose from the diesel filter to the high pressure pump may chafe on the fuel filter housing. In time this could result in a fuel leak and the possibility of an engine compartment fire.
Recalled vehicles will have the routing of the hose checked at which time if the hose is not damaged a new bracket will be fitted to prevent chafing. If the hose is damaged it will be replaced in addition a new bracket will be fitted.
